T Jolly Head Office Move
Over Christmas 2008, Jolly moved to its new offices on Bluebell Way in Longridge.
The logistics for the office move were surprisingly complex, with the need to communicate new telephone numbers to our clients, ensure IT communications were in place and get the file servers up and running to support the operations with minimal disruption. The build up to the move was complicated by the inevitable volume of old documents and stores that had accumulated during nearly twenty years at Corporation Street.
The new building provides a very different environment, with light and spacious offices for staff, together with modern building services providing higher comfort levels (as you would expect from a building services engineering company!). The move has also acted as a catalyst for disposing of old archives and streamlining our stores.
As the building was formerly a Honda motorcycle showroom (uncannily, Corporation Street had been a Honda car showroom before Jolly's occupation) there was a considerable amount of work to be done with partitioning, lighting, carpeting and cabling. Nevertheless, the conversion has gone well and the consensus from staff is that the move has been a great success.
Thanks to all the staff involved in the move, many of whom gave up a lot of time over the Christmas break. Thanks also to all the suppliers who supported Jolly in the move and helped to make it so successful by meeting agreed programmes, especially Stonehouse Logic on the IT systems move and Barons on the building works.
